Tibet is a region on the Tibetan Plateau in Eastern Asia. It is the traditional homeland of the Tibetan people as well as some other ethnic groups such as Monpa, Qiang and Lhoba peoples and is now also inhabited by considerable numbers of Han Chinese and Hui people.  Tibet is the highest region on Earth, with an average elevation of 4,900 m. The highest elevation in Tibet is Mount Everest, earth's highest mountain rising 8,848 m above sea level. There are over 800 settlements in Tibet. Lhasa is Tibet's traditional capital and the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. It contains two world heritage sites – the Potala Palace and Norbulingka, which were the residences of the Dalai Lama. Lhasa contains a number of significant temples and monasteries,  including Jokhang and Ramoche Temple.Shigatse is the second largest city in the Tibet AR, west of Lhasa. Gyantse and Qamdo are also amongst the largest.Other cities and towns in cultural Tibet include Shiquanhe (Ali), Nagchu, Bamda, Rutog, Nyingchi, Nedong, Coqên, Barkam, Sakya, Gartse, Pelbar, Lhatse, and Tingri; in Sichuan, Kangding (Dartsedo); in Qinghai, Jyekundo (Yushu), Machen, and Golmud;in India, Tawang, Leh, and Gangtok.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Lhasa pick up from airport and drive to Lhasa City.

Upon arrival you will be met by our English speaking Tibetan tour guide and driver at the airport, and transfer you to the hotel in downtown. Your Tibet tour operator will meet you at the hotel upon arrival and give all instructions. Overnight: Tibet Gang-gyan Lhasa hotel or similar 4 stars

Day 2 - After breakfast Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street

we will visit the Potala Palace which is built in 7th century and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels. You will experience its audience halls, the jewelled and Golden burial Chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, Thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during king Songtsen Gonpo’s reign by princess Wencheng and its famous Barkor Kora, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artefacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc. Overnight: Tibet Gang-gyan Lhasa hotel or similar 4 stars

Day 3 - After breakfast Visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries.

After breakfast, we will start our group tour at 09:00 in the morning. Drive 8km north-west of Lhasa and visit Drepung Monastery, which is situated at the foothill of a mountain and was founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was once the home of 10000 monks and Ganden Podrang in Drepung is famous for it was the administrative center during fifth Dalai Lama and later moved to Potala palace. After having lunch, continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is its Buddhist monk’s debating held in the courtyard. Day 4 - After breakfast drive to Namtso Lake 250km and back to lhasa.

On the way to Namtso we cross an area of vast pastures known as the Changthang (Northern Plain); home to the plateau nomads of northwestern Tibet. Finally, we will arrive at Namtso lake, one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet and a popular pilgrimage destination. Namtso is the highest Salt Lake on earth and the second largest Salt Lake in China (the largest being Qinghai Lake in Qinghai Province). We will return Lhasa early evening. Overnight.

Day 5 - After breakfast drive to Sighatse via Gyangtse .375km.

After the breakfast all group members picked up from the hotel at 09:00 and drive to Shigatse via Gyangtse. En-route, you will across Kambala pass (3975m), Yamdrok Youtso Lake, Karola Glacier and Semila Pass. Stop at every sight to take photos the great natures until arriving in Gyangtse. Gyangtse is renowned for Pelkhor Monastery and the stupa. Gyangtse Zong is located on top of the hill, was once the administration of central Tibet. We will drive more 90km to Shigatse through Tibetan villages aside the road.Overnight: Gesar hotel or Tashi Chorten hotel (4 stars)

Day 6 - After breakfast drive from Shigatse to Lhasa.

Drive from Shigatse to Lhasa Visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery before leave Shigatse. Tashi Lhunpo is one of the four major Gelupa monasteries and is the seat successive Pachen Lamas, and currently home to a number of few hundred monks. Then, we will make our way back to Lhasa along the Yarlung Tsangpo River, gorges and through Tibetan villages. Overnight: Tibet Gang-gyan Lhasa hotel or similar 4 stars

The booking terms and conditions contain thorough information that you need to know, so we encourage you to read them very carefully before contracting with Kailash View Tours & Treks Pvt.Ltd.

The following booking terms and conditions apply for all trips organized by us.

  1. Good health and physical fitness is required for all trips. So we would like to advise you to check your health condition before you book the trip.
  2. Travellers trekkers must have Travel insurance which covers accidents, emergency evacuation in case of you need to be rescued.
  3. When you confirm the trip, we need 30% advance of the total trip cost with a copy of your passport for reservation of the flight Ticket, Hotel Accommodation and trekking permit process. The rest of the payment you will make when you arrive in Nepal.
  4. You may use any means of payment such as western union, bank transfer, visa card or master card.
    After receiving a copy of your passport and the 30% advance then we will send you the final confirmation email.

  5. If you cancel your booking after you have paid or deposited for booking, the following percentage will be charged for cancellation:-
  6. There will be a cancellation fee of 30% for any cancellation Four weeks prior to tour departure date, 60% two weeks prior to tour departure date and no refund thereafter. No refund for no shows & delay arrivals whatsoever reason.

Note: But you may extend your trip without cancellation and charge till one year but we need to be informed through mail at least 2 weeks before the trip departure & you will have to pay the increased amount if the cost of the trip increased due to increment on the Local stuff used in the Trip.
